A leading critical access hospital located in northern Maine is currently searching for an experienced Lead Accountant to join their accredited healthcare team.

This organization provides access to world-class acute care services to a population of roughly 14,000 people. The inpatient services provided include cardiology, emergency medicine, orthopedics, and wound care. This system also provides various outpatient services including laboratory procedures, physical therapy, occupational therapy, radiology, chemotherapy, same-day surgery, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, nutritional counseling, home health, and respiratory care.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Lead Accountant will ensure compliance with all system policies and procedures, implements Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), manages journal entries, prepares accurate and timely financial statements, provides audit support, oversees insurance coverage and renewals, manages payroll and accounts payable functions, and manages schedules for reporting. This is a full-time position that can offer hybrid and/or fully remote schedules.
